Thursday Night Theology Throw-Down

Just a few quesitons to throw out there to those of you who "must have an opinion!" Please take your time to answer these questions and feel free to debate and challenge each other...as iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another! If you have never posted before...here is your chance!

1. What must someone do to enter into heaven? Or if you don't like the way that question is phrased...how do we end up spending eternity in heaven?

2. What would you tell someone who said, "Why should I be a Christian (follower of Christ)?

3. What are you doing right now to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 27:18-20)?

    1) Someone must believe in the living person Jesus Christ, His work, and His authority. In other words, we need to repent of living for ourselves and live a life of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and trust His death and resurrection to pay for our sins and acquire eternal life for us. (If you truly understand what that means and see the fruit of the Spirit in your life then continue in faith with assurance that you are born again into eternal life.)

(By the way, it's not a mystery religion. You don't need to be baptized in the name "Yahweh." We are being baptized into the family of God by the authority of the God/man Jesus. You can pronounce his name in Spanish, English, Greek, Hebrew, in some sub-Saharan dialect or you can even baptize "in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit." God knows who you re talking to, and by whose authority you do these things.)

    2) You should be a Christian because your choice is to delight in the only and amazing God forever or to suffer God's wrath against your sins without mercy forever. By the way, God is full of delights, and the joy found in Him is limitless. In other words, He is worthy of our affections, which just makes choosing damnation that much more foolish.

    3) Walking in the Holy Spirit (and seeking to be more sensitive to His leading). Prayer meetings (it's God's work so let's start by desperately seeking His involvement). Street preaching. One to one evangelism.
